My name is Josiah Jost but my nickname has been Siah (sigh-ah) for as long as I can remember. Located in southern Alberta, Canada, I freelance under my business Siah Design. I specialize in logo design and have won various awards for my work as well as been published in numerous design books (LogoLounge, Logo Design Love, iHeartLogos, Los Logos, etc). I’ve worked with clients from over 40 different countries and have had the privilege of working/collaborating for clients such as The History Channel, United States Army Reserve, Les Stroud (Survivorman) and Tyroo (Yahoo!). I have such a joy in creating thoughtful, creative logo identities.
One of the most important things in my life though is my relationship with Jesus Christ. Apart from Him I am nothing. Soli Deo Gloria.
The Siah Design logo shows a hand with index finger showing direction with the bottom part of the hand being the pencil – in doing so, the mark also forms a monogram “S” for Siah. The icon suggests giving direction to creativity. The significance of the finger pointing up for myself though is that it is pointing up to God giving Him any credit for his design work.
Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”
