Schizophrenia is a brain disorder characterized by abnormalities in the perception or expression of reality. A better name for the logo should be Dissociative (from Dissociative identity disorder where people have two or more personalities) or Mania (where people often cycle through mania and major depressions).

The Schizophrenia logo is indeed simple, but I would definitely associate this logo with a disorder like Bipolar.
The Merchantry Stats is quite creative. I love it when something so integrated into an industry is used creatively in a logo. Looking through all these logo designs, I think one important factor when designing a logo is checking whether it will still be as effective when printed in black and white, like on copied letterhead or a copied poster or flyer.

Schizophrenia has nothing to do with more than one personality. It’s a medically inaccurate logo.
Maybe that speaks to the amount of research your artists are doing?
Just saying.

The schizophrenia logo will do more harm than good by helping to solidify in the minds of the public a completely untrue characterization of a major mental disorder. Schizophrenia has no association with split personality. Further, i would question the sort of company that would deem it appropriate to name themselves after a devastating mental disorder – we would be okay with a for profit company calling itself Leukemia or Autistic?? It is strange how discriminatory we still are to adults with mental disorders.
Thanks for the clarification Anon and Meow.
I definitely had no intentions of having this logo make fun of the schizophrenic disorder. I came up with the concept and figured that schizophrenic would be the most recognized name to go with it.
I guess it would have been more ‘correct’ to call it “Dissociative Identity Disorder”. This logo is NOT currently associated with any company at the moment and is for sale on IncSpring.com. Thus, if this logo is used for an actual identity someday it most likely won’t have the word ’schizophrenic’ tagged to it.

The most accurate label for the “schizophrenic” logo (which is a great design, btw) is “bipolar,” which is also quite catchy and identifiable.
Bipolar is best because it is PRIMARILY associated with mood swings: being manic for long periods alternating with being depressed for long periods.
Multiple personalities or D.I.D. is ok, but it’s not like one personality is “sad” and the other is “happy” – they’re more like completely different people.
Schizophrenia is most associated with paranoia, delusions, and/or catatonia. They have trouble connecting with reality.

But seriously, while I’m not sure what it’d be used for, I think it’s a perfect representation for bipolar, and fun, too boot.
